Dayot Upamecano has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign for Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid. The development comes on the day that Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl suggested the defender's agent is fielding calls from interested parties.

The centre-back has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months after the Reds missed out on Marc Guehi during the summer transfer window. A £35million move to Anfield for the England defender collapsed on deadline day when Crystal Palace chairman, Steve Parish, pulled the plug on the deal.

Upamecano is a name that has been mentioned in recent months as a possible alternative to Guehi, who is set to become a free agent at the end of this season.
