Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a swipe at the club’s current crop of players while launching a passionate defence of countryman Ruben Amorim.

Ronaldo has had two stints at United. The first one was incredibly successful, with the forward emerging and going on to cement his status as one of the game’s greatest ever players.

However, his second spell ended in an extremely disappointing fashion. He fell out with Erik ten Hag, ultimately leading to him storming out of the club and sealing a transfer to the Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr.

As part of his bitter exit, Ronaldo granted an interview to broadcaster Piers Morgan, in which he accused Ten Hag of disrespecting him and throwing him under the bus. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also strongly criticised the club’s lack of progress since Sir Alex Ferguson.

In a new sit-down with Morgan, Ronaldo has revealed that he still loves United but believes there is currently no proper structure in place to steer the club back to glory.
