Tyrone Mings will reportedly be sidelined for at least seven weeks with injury.

The Aston Villa defender suffered a hamstring problem during Villa’s defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.

Having only recently recovered from an ankle injury, Mings came off the bench in the second half at Anfield but was unable to complete the match.

He walked down the tunnel before full time due to the hamstring problem, which The Athletic claims will keep him out until the New Year.

The injury is a major blow for both Mings and Villa, leaving Pau Torres as the only left-sided centre-back available to Unai Emery.

Mings signed a new contract with Villa last summer and has made eight appearances so far this season.

Villa boss Unai Emery is expected to provide a full team news update ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Maccabi Tel Aviv when he speaks to the media on Wednesday.
