Jamie Carragher believes Everton must find a new striker in January if they are to avoid a nervous season in which relegation is a concern.

The former Liverpool player-turned pundit insisted he did not believe the Blues would go down but said the club’s priority was for a first campaign in years in which there was no prospect of a survival fight.

The only way to do that, he said, was to find a player capable of finishing the chances that are being created for Everton’s two forwards, Beto and Thierno Barry.
