Newcastle United are letting Eddie Howe down with a 'poor attitude' in Premier League matches - according to Gary Neville.

The Magpies sit in the bottom half of the table and are some way off the pace from the European places in the top-flight. But ex-Man United star Neville feels that the Magpies' willingness to drop their intensity levels is costing them dear in matches this season.

At West Ham, Neville noted that Newcastle barely troubled the goalkeeper in the second half and shone a light on the attitude of the players ahead of any major faults from Howe himself.

Neville, who was a pundit on NBC Sports, said: "They (Newcastle) made me really angry. In the last 20 minutes of the first half and certainly the second half, they did not have a shot for a long time in the game.

"I thought they really let the manager down. Eddie Howe is a fantastic manager who has a great record.
