LEGEND Matt Le Tissier believes Saints must appoint a "big character" capable of transforming the club's morale following Will Still's sacking.

Southampton have parted ways with Still after a far from satisfactory start to the campaign saw him earn 12 points from his first 13 league games in charge.

The 33 year old has departed Southampton just five months into the three-year deal he signed just before the end of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
