AFC Bournemouth travelled to Manchester on Sunday to take on former champions Manchester City. On this occasion, it was the Cherries who were higher placed in the Premier League table, maintaining their second-place position despite other teams playing earlier in the weekend.

A win for the home side however, would see the Cherries drop to fourth, whilst City would leapfrog them.

AFC Bournemouth made a few notable changes to the starting line-up, including Diakite back in the Cherries defence and Justin Kluivert dropping back down to the bench.

After the match, AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola told Sky Sports…

“It was not a bad performance by us. We are starting quite well in games. Even when they scored the first goal we were controlling a lot. You have to accept the way we play there are risks.

“It is a season where we have the challenge of a lot of new players but we also have advantage where we have players who have been here for three pre-seasons. We have played just 10 games and we still need a lot of points.

“We have to continue to do the same things....
