Newcastle United fans have been caught up in the aftermath of the train horror that unfolded on Saturday night.

Fans have been given the option "not to travel" with full refunds available from LNER for those choosing to defer travel with the East Coast Mainline in chaos this morning. The LNER Azuma train that saw nine people stabbed and hospitalised remains in the station in Huntingdon this morning and is now a crime scene.

Newcastle United Supporters Club released the following statement: "Our thoughts are with all those affected by the horrific incident in Huntingdon this evening For supporters travelling by train to West Ham, please refer to LNER for the latest travel information.

"There is currently a “Do not travel” notice in place."

And LNER commented to fans: "Tomorrow's service may be affected by the incident tonight. We have a team working on any potential amendments and will update our journey planners throughout the night.
