Unlike previous seasons, Manchester United fought back from a goal down to leave the City Ground with a point following their Premier League game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Red Devils had taken the lead in the first half through Casemiro, but the hosts equalised and retook the lead within five minutes of the restart.

Diogo Dalot had a day to forget while Ruben Amorim’s substitutions defied logic. But up stepped Amad to save the head coach’s blushes.

The Ivorian came up with a long-range stunner to equalise for the visitors, and even came mightily close to finding the winner in added time, only for a goal-line clearance to thwart his efforts.

The head coach praised the team’s fightback, and will be pleased with how the 23-year-old reacted post match.

When asked by Sky Sports about his wonder strike, Amad said, “I don’t know if it is goal of the season. We are really disappointed to go home with one point.”

This shows that personal accolades have taken the back seat to collective glory under Amorim, a sharp change from the atmosphere that pervaded the dressing room under previous managers.
