Arsenal have received a huge boost in the pursuit of AC Milan forward Rafael Leao, as per TEAMtalk.
It was widely suggested during the summer transfer window that the Gunners were keen on purchasing a new left-sided forward. Rodrygo Goes, Anthony Gordon, and Leao were linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, the North London club eventually signed Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. Initially, it was thought that he was the option that they had bought to reinforce the left flank, but he has been featuring as a creative midfielder amid Martin Odegaard’s injury absence.
Even when the Norwegian was fit, Arteta used him and Eze in a midfield three against West Ham United. So, it appears the Englishman has been purchased as an option to add depth in the No.10 position.
Meaning, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard remain the primary options to deploy on the left. Noni Madueke can provide cover in this position if needed, although he is a right winger by trait. But he has been out injured at the moment.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal are interested in upgrading the left flank in January and have earmarked Leao as an ‘ideal’ option....
