Arsenal advanced into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after defeating Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Gunners were made to work hard by a spirited Brighton side, but second half goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka sealed the win for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Nwaneri opened the scoring early in the second half after a fine attacking move, before Saka came off the bench to add a second late on.

It was another night where Arsenal’s mix of youth and experience came together to deliver a composed performance.

Produced a vital early save to deny Georginio Rutter, setting the tone for his night. Although his passing was sometimes uncertain, his overall display was steady and confident. Our man of the match today.

Looked sharp and energetic throughout the game. Combined well with Max Dowman down the right flank and showed good defensive awareness when needed.

Continued to impress with his calm presence and strong tackling. Apart from one moment of hesitation in the second half, he remained composed and reliable.
