Ethan Nwaneri was delighted to bag his first goal of the season as he helped us reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

The 18-year-old made the breakthrough on 57 minutes with a first-time effort after being set up by Myles Lewis-Skelly. Bukayo Saka rounded off the victory on 76 minutes to set up a clash with Crystal Palace in the last eight of the competition.

Speaking about our performance after the match, Ethan said: "I think we played very well. There were loads of different players playing. It's a completely new 11, so I think we came together. There were times when we struggled a bit, but I think in the end we did very well and came through with the result."

Ethan put his connection with Myles as one of the key reasons for breaking the deadlock. The pair have played together in our Hale End academy down the years and Ethan was confident his teammate would find him after Myles had been played through with a fine backheel by Mikel Merino.
