Mikel Arteta has provided the latest Arsenal injury news ahead of his side's Carabao Cup clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night.

Declan Rice, Gabriel Martinelli, Riccardo Calafiori and William Saliba all picked up fresh issues in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Arteta confirmed Saliba is not fit enough to make the matchday squad against Brighton.

"No, we are assessing him but he won't be involved," Arteta said when asked how long the Frenchman will be out for. Rice and Calafiori are available, however, while Martinelli is a huge doubt.

On the Brazilian Arteta said: "Looks as well that he is going to out. We are going to have to do a few more tests but looks that this game will come too early."

Elsewhere, Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard and Noni Madueke remain out.
