Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has picked one Manchester United player in his Premier League Team of the Week.

The Red Devils secured a third-straight league win following a 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

Bryan Mbeumo was the standout performer. The Cameroonian star scored his maiden brace for the Mancunian giants.

The 26-year-old has now registered five goals and one assist from 10 appearances since he arrived from Brentford last summer.

His latest performance against the Seagulls has earned him a spot in Shearer’s Team of the Week.

Shearer said: “This is why Man Utd were so keen to sign him. He was a constant threat against Brighton and produced two composed finishes.”

Aside from his goal contributions, the 26-year-old has also impressed with his tireless work rate and high pressing.

Mbeumo, hailed as ‘incredible‘ by manager Thomas Frank, has won almost 45 percent of his ground duels, while making 2.5 ball recoveries per game.

United have turned the corner with three consecutive victories, and they have the opportunity to extend the streak this weekend.
