Kevin Thelwell is deservedly coming under increased scrutiny at Rangers.

Thelwell was appointed by Rangers over the summer as Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers looked to kickstart their rebuild at Ibrox.

The Gers brought in Russell Martin before Rangers quickly sacked him in what was a shocking run as head coach in Govan.

Thelwell has since scuppered moves for Kevin Muscat and Steven Gerrard as the Light Blues looked to replace the outgoing Englishman.

The Sporting Director has been slammed for this involvement, and Thelwell hasn’t been helped by what’s going on at Hearts right now.

Thelwell had a significant say in Rangers’ transfers over the summer, as a sizable outlay was spent on revamping the squad in G51.

There was initial optimism when Max Aarons and Joe Rothwell arrived to add Premier League experience to the squad.

Frustrations became obvious not too long after as the likes of Emmanuel Fernandez, Nasser Djiga, Mikey Moore, and Jayden Meghoma came in.

This selection of young players hasn’t improved the Gers and has arguably taken away from the ability to develop their own young talent.
