There is just something about playing away from home that brings the best from Tottenham in the Premier League.

In fact, no top-flight side has claimed more points on the road (13) than Spurs this season and they are the only team that are yet to taste defeat.

This excellent spirited team display, which inflicted Everton to their first-ever competitive defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, was the perfect combination of attacking efficiency and defensive solidity.

Furthermore, it was also the perfect response to the midweek Champions League scare in Monaco when Spurs faced an astonishing 23 shots on their goal.

They were ahead on 19 minutes when Mohammed Kudus sent a corner swirling towards the back post.

Rodrigo Bentancur got his head on it, nodding it back across the face of goal for Micky van de Ven to turn in.

However, it would get even better for Tottenham before half-time as their set-piece delight continued.
