Tottenham need to find a way to rescue their season from collapsing after a string of disappointing results under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhites’ struggles at home continued with a defeat against Aston Villa in the Premier League last weekend, followed by an even more uninspiring display against AS Monaco in the Champions League.

Despite losing only two matches in all competitions this season, there are several glaring issues in the squad that must be addressed urgently. The attacking line, in particular, needs reinforcements in January if Spurs are serious about competing on all fronts. The absence of a natural left-winger is a growing concern and could come back to haunt Frank if it remains unresolved.

In hindsight, the decision not to bring in a replacement for Heung-Min Son during the summer now looks like a major mistake. At present, Frank has no player capable of replicating the legendary winger’s impact. Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons have struggled to make the left-wing role their own, while Brennan Johnson has also failed to impress on that side, and understandably so, given his natural position as a right-winger.
