England head coach Sarina Wiegman has confirmed that Hannah Hampton will miss their friendly with Brazil on Saturday, with Brighton’s Sophie Baggaley called up to the squad.

Hampton suffered a minor elbow injury during training ahead of Saturday’s game at the Etihad Stadium.

The Chelsea goalkeeper has not left the squad, so could potentially appear for the Lionesses when they meet Australia on Tuesday in Derby, if she can prove her fitness.

Hampton is the latest player to be ruled unavailable for the Lionesses during the October international break.

Katie Reid, Grace Clinton and Jess Park have all been forced to withdraw from the squad, while Leah Williamson, Lauren James and Lauren Kemp all missed Wiegman’s selection due to injuries.

On Friday morning, Wiegman also announced that Lotte Wubben-Moy had been pulled out of the squad after feeling unwell.
