Florian Wirtz silenced some of his many critics after registering two assists during Liverpool’s 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.

The Reds finally got back to winning ways at Deutsche Bank Park, with Wirtz at the centre of a much better performance.

Having failed to register a goal or assist since August’s Community Shield, the knives have well and truly been out for Wirtz.

Few of his critics have been from inside Liverpool, though, with the 22-year-old clearly impressing those who watch him more closely.

Wirtz’s Liverpool teammates were clearly delighted for him after his perfectly weighted pass to Cody Gakpo was swept home, and after seeing the German claim a second assist of the night soon after, Curtis Jones has backed Wirtz to show everyone exactly how good he is.
