On Wednesday, Liverpool secured a 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League. The Reds’ latest victory came at a cost as both Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong suffered setbacks.
After the match, Liverpool manager Arne Slot said Frimpong has suffered a hamstring injury.
Nos provide the latest on the right-back’s injury situation, and it doesn’t look good for him, Liverpool or the Netherlands.
The Dutch international already suffered a blow to his hamstring in August. That kept him on the sidelines for a few weeks, forcing him to miss September’s fixtures with the national team.
Since regaining full fitness, the 24-year-old has made seven appearances for the Merseyside club and one for Oranje earlier this month. He started against Eintracht Frankfurt and was replaced by Conor Bradley in the 19th minute.
According to Nos, Frimpong will be out of action for several weeks. His latest setback is a concern for the Netherlands as it’s believed Frimpong could miss November’s international break.
If Frimpong were to be out until the next international break, he’ll miss Liverpool’s matches against Brentford, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Real Madrid and Manchester City.
