Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has torn into Liverpool players following their run of four consecutive defeats, claiming Arne Slot's stars don't understand what the manager wants from them.

The Reds spent big in the recent summer transfer window, overhauling their squad in an attempt to retain their Premier League crown.

Mikel Arteta's side finished runners-up to the Reds last season, and both teams fought for the title once again in the early weeks of the season.

As things stand, the Gunners have the momentum and sit three points clear of Manchester City in second place, while Liverpool have dropped down to third following three straight defeats in the Premier League, four points adrift of Arsenal.

They did bounce back with an emphatic win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League last night, though Wright has not been convinced by Liverpool this season.
