Christantus Uche’s situation at Crystal Palace has led to ‘disbelief’ in Spain, where they’re wondering what’s happened to the Getafe star.

Mundo Deportivo cover the midfielder today. They say he’s absolutely not having the impact at Crystal Palace that anyone had hoped for.

He joined Crystal Palace on loan at the end of the summer transfer window. That deal includes a clause for it to become permanent for €20m when he’s played at least 20 games.

Previous reports had that figure at 10 games. That number came from Ceuta president Luhay Hamido, whose club are set to receive €10m for their former player.

Those statements were made last month when it was ‘expected’ the Nigerian would gradually force his way into Crystal Palace’s plans. That hasn’t happened. He’s ‘practically irrelevant’ for Oliver Glasner. He’s managed just nine minutes in two appearances to date.

Indeed, this week he was playing for Crystal Palace’s U21’s in the 5-2 defeat to Stevenage. That’s a far cry from life at Getafe, where he was a star for José Bordalás.
