Arsenal scouts were in the stands at the Maracanã on Monday night and left “enchanted” by Vasco da Gama’s teenage star Rayan.

The 19-year-old striker scored in a 2-0 win over Fluminense and once again proved why he’s one of the most exciting young talents in Brazil.

According a story relayed by BolaVip, the Gunners sent two representatives to watch him closely. After the match, when asked about his performance, the scouts described it with one word: enchanted.

The impression was so strong that they called an Arsenal director in London around 1am to report on the forward’s display.

Rayan continues to gain admirers across Europe. Arsenal’s scouts were reportedly impressed by his strength, pace and calmness under pressure. The visit is part of the club’s long-term strategy to follow top South American talents.

Tottenham and Barcelona also scouted Rayan earlier this month, and now Arsenal have joined the race.

Inside Vasco, people expect that if Rayan keeps up this form, an official offer could arrive soon. His growing influence and maturity make him an attractive option for Premier League sides.
