Former Arsenal star Jeremie Aliadiere has said that there is nothing to worry about Viktor Gyokeres’ recent goal drought in the Premier League.

Having struggled with the centre-forward position last term, the Gunners decided to address the issue by purchasing the Swedish international from Sporting CP for a £64m fee this summer.

The 27-year-old was the highest-scoring striker in the last two seasons in Europe, so it is completely justifiable why the North London club opted to buy him. However, the forward has endured a slow start to this season, scoring three goals in eight Premier League appearances.

He netted twice against the newly promoted side, Leeds United, and scored the other goal against a struggling Nottingham Forest team. But he has failed to find the back of the net in the last four consecutive league matches.

Now, during a recent interview (via Metro), Aliadiere was asked whether it is a worrying sign that Gyokeres has found it difficult to score goals in the Premier League, and the ex-forward stated that there is nothing to worry about yet.
