Newcastle striker Nick Woltemade is quickly etching his way into Magpies folklore after yet another goal in the Premier League – and he’s following in the footsteps of St. James’ Park legend Alan Shearer in the process.

Newcastle relied on their German talisman yet again to equalise against Brighton in the Premier League, scoring with just over 10 minutes to go against the Seagulls on Saturday afternoon.

Although Newcastle transpired to lose the game, it was Nick Woltemade’s brilliance that got them back into it, with his deft finish beating Bart Verbruggen all ends up on the south coast to send the travelling Magpies fans barmy.

However, Eddie Howe will take positive signs from his goal and fans will have noticed that the Germany international is making his own trademark on Tyneside, following in the ilk of club legend Alan Shearer.
