Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has revealed why he decided to name Benjamin Sesko on the bench for the Red Devils’ trip to Liverpool on Sunday. Sesko was left out of the starting line-up for the fourth time this season, with United aiming for their fourth Premier League win of the campaign.

United stumped up an initial fee of just over £66million to land Sesko from RB Leipzig in the summer, with the deal also including a further £7.5m in add-ons. The Slovenia international was named on the bench for his team’s opening three league matches of the season before starting the next four. He scored his first United goal against Brentford at the end of September before registering another goal during United’s victory over Sunderland ahead of the international break. But when Amorim announced his starting line-up for the trip to Anfield, Sesko’s name was absent.
