Manchester United Women fought back from a goal down to win 4-1 at Everton in the Women’s Super League on Sunday afternoon.United got off to a positive start and created a goalscoring opportunity in the fifth minute when Melvine Malard pulled the ball back to Lisa Naalsund, who could only blaze her effort high.Moments later, Elisabeth Terland headed Fridolina Rolfo’s cross over the bar as United continued to pile pressure on the hosts.Naalsund, who was United’s best player early on, created a golden chance for Rolfo in the box, but she could not hit the target.Everton broke the deadlock against the run of play in the 16th minute, when goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce failed to deal with Yuka Momiki’s free-kick, allowing Honoka Hayashi to put the ball home.Just after the hour mark, Naalsund’s almost drew Man United level, firing an ambitious shot from 30 yards out over the goal.Everton’s Karen Holmgaard nearly committed an own goal when Malard sent a cross into the six-yard box, but luckily, her unconvincing clearance went out for a corner.Terland squandered a chance to restore parity...
