Former England star Jack Wilshere is in talks to take his first senior managerial job after snubbing a return to Arsenal over the summer.

Wilshere spent nearly 17 years with his beloved Gunners, coming through their academy and making 197 first-team appearances.

But the 33-year-old’s playing career came to an early end in 2022 after being plagued with injury issues and he immediately moved into coaching.

He returned to north London to become Arsenal Under-18 boss for two years before joining Norwich City as a first-team coach, later becoming interim manager at the end of last season.

The Canaries passed on appointing him permanently and over the summer Wilshere was strongly linked with another return to Hale End, this time in a pivotal role as the Under-21 manager.
