Stoke City goalkeeper Viktor Johansson has admitted his on-pitch personality is very different to his private one.

Dagens Nyhete cover an interview with the goalkeeper today as he gears up for a big step in his career.

He’s set to become Sweden’s number one, stepping up to fill the void after Robin Olsen’s departure from the set up. It’s a big moment for the 27-year-old, who has only been given a handful of appearances since his debut in October 2023.

They’ve all come over the last year, with him making six straights starts in the Nations League last year before then being dropped again come March. He sat on the bench for the last international break against Slovenia and Kosovo.

He’s been waiting for a serious chance to prove his worth. Indeed, he joined Stoke from Rotherham last summer with that very much in mind.

That move has worked out well so far as he’s impressed for the Potters, earning something of a reputation as an aggressive competitor on the pitch. He insists that’s not what he’s like all of the time, though.
