The Columbus Crew is set to bid farewell to MLS legend Darlington Nagbe following the 2025 MLS season, as was reported by Tom Bogert on X Monday evening. Nagbe, 35, is a four-time MLS Cup winner with three teams (Portland 2015, Atlanta United 2018, Columbus 2020, 2023).

A native of Lakewood, Ohio, Nagbe attended the University of Akron, where he was coached by former Crew head coach Caleb Porter, capturing an NCAA title and the MAC Hermann Trophy, while tallying 19 goals and 19 assists in 73 matches for the Zips in three collegiate seasons. His honors include being named a Soccer America All-Freshman first-team honoree and the All-MAC Newcomer of the Year in 2008. A year later, Nagbe was named to the NSCAA All-America Second Team, Soccer America MVP Second Team, Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Season Second Team, All-Great Lakes Region First Team, and All-Mid-American-Conference First Team. In 2010, Nagbe guided Akron to its first-ever National Championship, defeating the Louisville Cardinals 1-0.
