On summer deadline day, Crystal Palace allowed Odsonne Édouard to join RC Lens on a permanent transfer.
Last season, Crystal Palace sent the 27-year-old on loan to Leicester City, and he failed to score or register an assist for the Foxes.
His struggles started at the end of 2023 as he scored once for Crystal Palace last year. That came in the Eagles’ 4-2 league defeat to Manchester City in April.
On Sunday, the striker scored in the Ligue 1 side’s 2-1 win over AJ Auxerre. This gets attention from Monday’s edition of La Voix des Sports as Édouard has ended his 521-day goal drought.
Another summer signing, Abdallah Sima, opened his account for Lens by scoring the late winner against AJ Auxerre.
