TalkSPORT’s Jeff Stelling has volunteered words of praise for Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi.

The former Soccer Saturday front man suggested that the Nigerian international, who was named man of the match following Fulham’s 3-1 win over Brentford on Saturday, might be one of the most underrated performers in the top flight.

Stelling said:

“I know you don’t often appreciate some players actually until they’ve finished playing but I was watching Fulham against Brentford and Alex Iwobi scored a goal and he produced an absolutely brilliant assist. I thought, Alex Iwobi goes under the radar to such an incredible degree. Every week when I see him, he’s a seven or even an eight out of 10. Every single week. I wonder if he is the most underrated player in the Premier League and I’ll back that up just briefly. “Last season, nine goals, six assists, he’s already got a goal and two assists. His record in the Premier League, 296 Premier League appearances, 32 goals, 37 assists.”
