Lincoln City continued their superb start to the League One campaign by ending their nineteen-year barren run without victory at London Road against Peterborough United.

After the excellent showing against Chelsea on Tuesday evening, a few players may feel hard done by for not being awarded a start for their performances against the World Champions. But Michael Skubala named the same side that defeated Luton Town seven days earlier, with Adam Jackson overcoming his absence in midweek to start alongside Sonny Bradley in the centre of defence.

The familiar midfield duo of Conor McGrandles and Tom Bayliss once again complemented each other, while Rob Street, Freddie Draper and Ben House were all excellent in both games in the past week. James Collins returned to lead the line, as City reverted to their standard 4-2-3-1 formation.

For the hosts, Peterborough United remained unchanged from the side which edged past Plymouth Argyle last Saturday. That was their second third-tier victory in succession, but Cian Hayes, who helped see out that victory at Home Park, picked up a knee ligament injury in training that has ruled him out for the forseeable future.
