Al-Hilal have reportedly trained their sights on Manchester United striker target Viktor Gyokeres after Victor Osimhen turned them down.

Gyokeres is believed to be a name on United’s transfer list, with Ruben Amorim keen on securing the services of a top-class striker ahead of next season.

Regularly finding the back of the net in the just-concluded 2024/25 campaign was a big problem for United and adding goals to the team is the club’s top priority this summer.

Already, United have announced the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. United are also working hard to complete a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

But the club’s ambitions aren’t expected to end there, with a new striker also high on the agenda. Gyokeres’ name keeps popping up, following a prolific season in which he plundered 54 goals in 52 games for Sporting CP.

Gyokeres has an £85m release clause but it’s understood Sporting would accept a fee closer to £60m. Unsurprisingly, Amorim wants a reunion with Gyokeres. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Swede is open to a switch to Old Trafford, even without European football.

However, United’s pursuit of Gyokeres could be derailed...
