Manchester City's legal cases with the Premier League continue to attract attention as the world of football keeps a watchful eye on the potential outcomes. As well as their ongoing 115 charges case, the champions have also launched a fresh challenge about the league's amended associated party transactions (APT) rules.

The APT challenge is separate from City's ongoing case surrounding the 115 charges brought against them in February 2023 by the Premier League, who accused City of breaching the competition's financial rules. It is a claim that the club vehemently deny.

The official hearing began in September, with a verdict yet to be released despite the hearing concluding in December. It is now reported by the Telegraph that it is unlikely a final verdict will be given before the end of the current season or even before the summer.

It’s a situation Newcastle will be keeping a close eye on. It has now been more than two years since the Premier League announced the charges against City for allegedly breaching financial rules as well as failing to cooperate with investigations over a nine-year period.
